Starship Troopers IC

-The Beginning-
The Humans have just discovered a strange planet and send troops down to investigate what was there......
Little did they know what they would find on the planet. The Troopers land on the planet by Large ships while 2 maruaders land by their special pods. The bugs wait underground to see what organism was foolish enough to step foot on their planet. The Battle for Humanity and Arachnid survival begins.

Venta was the first off the dropship. His special operation squad of 7 was with him. He moved swiftly to the right flank. His famas was in both hands but held down. It's barrel pointing the planets surface. His squad moved behind him taking in 360 of the surrounding. Every troop including Venta down on one knee. The rest of the Privates and Sargents flooded out of the dropship. This was all in preperation for the 2 Maruaders that were landing. Venta looked into the air as the Maruader pods hit the ground. His squad swiftly moved near it. Once again they held their guns up aiming out into the planet.

A yell was heard "There is one of those bug bastards!" the private quickly raised his gun. A sargent quickly moved infront of him and pushed the privates gun to the ground "We don't shoot untill we see twenty of 'em! If we do, We'll be dead within an hour. We need to set up basecamp with the Maruaders giving cover fire for any bugs that come near us. Do you read me private?!"

"Sir yes Sir!" the private yelled returning to one of his buddies. Venta could only smirk. He remembered when he was that naive on his first drop. It's the adreneline. It just gets you up for this stuff. he thought to himself silently as he looked through his scope.

Jake had just gotten orders from the ships that he was to take a marauder down to the surface with him to check out the area. He was happy to get a mission and chose one of the new guys, so he could get some combat expeirience in, and saddled him up and his pod and then went to his own pod and strapped in. He then said to the ship captain "Maruaders. Ready to launch." The captain said over the com "Okay boys, good luck." One reason women were usually captains is because nothing helps a man more when he goes drops is than a women's voice.

Upon hitting dirt he walked out of his pod and looked at the squad around him, noticing that they were new, and young. He walked over to their commanding officer saying "The marauders will lead the way. Keep your men alive." He would then jump out to 60 clicks from the position radioing his other marauder to help out the troops while he looked for signs of life.

Venta had nodded to the Maruader. A grin on his face as he began to think Damn.. So that's what A maruader is.. Venta hadn't lowered as he barked out orders "C'mon men. I want a 100 meter radius. Circle formation. Three-Sixty degree vision. If it moves radio me. If it runs at you. Shoot the hell out of it" Venta smiled as he brought his his gun 'Triggers-down' which ment the barrely was pointing to the ground as he moved to the center and 25 troops and over one hundred workers began to put a base together. There had been 3 radio calls to Venta. Which he checked out. "Are you shitting me?" he had said on the second call as a group of over 100 bugs moved on the horizon. Out of all three calls he had figured there was about 175 bugs that he had seen. Sadly, As every good warrior knows. Before the attack. Take the number of bugs you see and times it by about One-Hundred and you will have how many bugs will attack you.

Venta turned on the extra radio on his shoulder as he looked around. It was the radio to the Maruaders who had their own private line "Yeah, We're lookin' at about an attack 17,500. Maybe 20,000. I'm not really sure. We may need your cover fire soon. The base is about 70% complete. We're fixing all the cracks and installing the 15 turrets. What do you see out there - Over."

He let out a grunt as he hit dirt. He then watched as the troops were getting into formation, He saw that bugs in the distance thinking,This is bad, Damn the brass, damn them for making me only take one marauder. He would then set over his radio to his man saying "Stay with those troops, I have a bad feeling about this one." He would then continue moving around the perimeter listening to the chatter on the radio. He would see a bug breach the ground and run at him. He would swivel his gun and would let out a tiny burst into the nerve stem, killing it instantly. He would set over his com link asking the general "How is it on your end? The grounds shitting up bugs over hear." He would then burst several bugs down saying "Be carefull we don't know where they might pop up." He would then continue moving around the perimeter killing bugs.

Venta tapped a small button and something in his ear buzzed, he then spoke, "Hmm, Everythings good. The fence is almost up and the electric generater is set. A few more links and we can kick back. For awhile. Oh, We also have the foundation for the base camp set up already - Over." Venta sighed as another buzz fumed his ear. A seargent ran up to him immediatly "We just saw bugs, one hundred meters, to the south." Venta shook his head as he looked the seargent in the eyes and spoke "How many?" the seargent looked down to his hands and closed his eyes. His hands moved eratically. Must be a habit for him Venta smiled as the seargen looked up. "About sixty" Venta let a grunt pass him as he pressed another button. The same buzz in his ear. "Yeah, Seargent Clemins just told me he saw sixty bugs. 'bout a hundred meters south of us. You got that? - Over." Venta quickly jogged to the south. Some of the lower class soldiers were talking and tellings stories. Each of which was kneeled with their gun pointing out. Private Simmons pointed out into the terrain to show Venta where the bugs had been spotted. Venta brought his famas to eye level and looked through his ACOG scope. He moved it slowly and carefully checked the area. "Looks like they were just a band of scouts. We gotta hurry and get the wall up." All the privates turned, their faces grim, "We are going to be alright... Right General Venta?" Venta could only smile as he hogged his gun over his shoulder and said "Hell yeah, You got me and the Maruaders."

Jake was killing bugs when he saw a large breach around 70 clicks from his location. He radioed the general saying "Get ready, large breach, numbers: incaculable. Around 130 clicks to the south of your location." He would then start using his jump jets to get over to the base that had been set up. He would have to kill any bug that got near him, he would notice that they were just working bugs. He would radio "Tell your men that they should watch the bugs, so that they don't waste ammo on the worker bugs." He would then radio his man saying "If you die out here I will kick your Donkey myself." He would then reach the base, he would be looking for the general.
